My First Herb Garden!!!!!!

I am totally stoked about this post!!!!! I decided to start my first herb garden this year!

I have been taking a class offered through our health insurance for the past 11 weeks. I have learned so much about eating and the importance of healthy foods. I have one class left this coming week, but at our cooking demo last Thursday at the LDS hospital I was inspired to start my own garden!

The thing that made me decide to try it was she just had her little plant on the table while cooking and just snipped a Rosemary leaf off and used it in the recipe! How awesome is that?!?!??!!? Maybe I'm just a goof and such a newlywed like one of my clients says I am. haha BUT  I do hate paying for fresh herbs at the store.

I researched on Pinterest a bit how to accomplish my goal and found some good suggestions! MAN, I love that website.
I went to TJ MaXX and picked me some cute pots up and made Ryan take me to Walmart for my organic potting soil and seeds.

I decided to plant:
Cilantro, Parsley, Oregano, and Sweet Basil!

I've got them on the porch while the weather is nice so they can get the sun they need! I hope they start to sprout here soon.

HERE THEY ARE..... AREN'T THEY CUTE????
You wish you had your own herb garden so you can make some yummy fresh salsa and awesome Italian dishes! huh? jk, but you can start your own if you wanted!

I'm excited to have some fresh herbs!!!!!!

I total agree...I get excited about a garden every year! It feels so good to walk out to YOUR yard and pick something that YOU'VE grown and serve it up for your family. I usually just do tomatoes, jalapenos, zucchini and herbs. This year I've decided to throw in some beets and lettuce too. Your gonna get addicted....WARNING!

You are so funny. I have herbs in pots in my backyard - the ones we use the most are cilantro and chives. I love chives! I guess it's time for me to get back to my pots!
