Amanda a few weeks ago decided to make ribbons for all the people she works with to show her support and love of a young girl working with her. Her name is Lena (24) and she has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer. Her going through the process of Kemo, Amanda wanted to make these purple ribbons which stand for the type of cancer she has. Once everyone at work saw these ribbons they ALL wanted one. Not only did they want one, but we decided to add the red to show support for our CEO of Granite Credit Union who has Squamous Cell Carcinoma cancer. He is not doing well at all.
As you can see we worked all night after searching three stores to find enough ribbon to make enough for every single employee of the credit union. Totalling 115 ribbons together. Amanda and I had a lot of fun putting these together and thought we were crazy to think we could do all of these in one night, but we did....and went to the gym afterwards because we had too much energy to go to bed at midnight. We laughed and enjoyed each others company while we made each one of these. I realized how grateful I was to be in good health and to do this simple
act of support for these two people working with us. My prayers are with them and I am so happy to feel like I am showing my support by wearing this adorable ribbon everyday at work!
